5th of November Remembered

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli'ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!
And what should we do with him? Burn him!

Isn't it nice to have your deed or rather misdeed celebrated by generations to come? Guy Fawkes had that honour and like last year I went to Battersea Park to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day... It started with a traditional bonfire....

Now photosynthesis can happen at night!
Haha....

After the bonfire came the main event.... The fireworks display!

Now that was worth my £6. The theme for the fireworks display? Love. That is indeed in short supply around the world at this moment...

And let's remember remember the fifth of November... Of how one guy tried and failed to blow up Parliament. Hang drawn and quartered he was but at least he gave us something to celebrate....

A sad day for the UK

Yesterday marks the suppression of the will of the British electorate- the Lisbon Treaty becomes law. =( Now more power will be transferred from the UK and into the hands of the Eurocrats in Brussels who well make stupid laws like how straight must your banana be.... Soon UK will be a colony of the EU, ironic isn't it? The child end up dominating the parent...
